When did that happen?

I got up this morning, and wandered into the kitchen to make my tea. Mr Knits turned on Breakfast Television, and Kevin Frankish said there were 10 shopping days left until Christmas. How can that be? Isn't it only the end of November? Or may just the first of December? My calendar in the shop still says it's November, and that couldn't be wrong....could it?

Ten days! That's a serious problem. Our town has a grand total of, let me see.....zero stores where I can buy appropriate presents. Unless you count the plumbing supplies, pet food, or cheap dollar store junk. Perhaps my mom would like some oak panelling, John's son and wife, now they might want a new sink. I could get a year's supply of laundry detergent for them. How romantic and loving is that? Maybe throw in a few loonies and toonies for the laundromat and they'd be set.

So, I'm off to Toronto to finish off the shopping once and for all. The gifts (written hopefully) will all be wrapped and tagged by Sunday.

But, on the bright side, I finished another one of my sooper sekrit projects, and need a few test knitters. Here's some closeup shots that show the yarn and stitches, but not the finished thing.

One skein of Baby Monkey (55 yards of furry yarn) and 3 skeins of Rowan Big Wool (261 yards of super bulky wool), 10 mm needles and about 5 hours of knitting. Anyone up for the challenge of deciphering my pattern writing and getting a cool thing as a finished object? Let me know!
