Technology can be fun
After a month of eager anticipation I opened the beautiful white box with the red ribbon around it, and took out my iPad. I restrained myself from sitting down and using it right then as we had more presents to open, I had the turkey dinner to get in the oven, dishes to wash, breakfast to make. I knew I needed to download iTunes to my computer in order for the iPad to work, so I decided once dinner was well underway, and all the other incidental details tended to, I would settle on the couch and set the iPad up. And that's just what I started to do.
The internet was moving slower than dial up. I checked our usage monitor and discovered that we were over our daily usage allotment and were in internet time out for 23 more hours! To say I was unimpressed would be an understatement. The wastrels had spoiled my afternoon fun! So there was no iPad for me on Christmas Day. I did lovingly charge it up, and then tenderly packed it away in my suitcase as I was going visiting in the morning.
Finally, last night at Matt and Terri's I was able to download iTunes, and play with my new toy. Matt told me about this game - Angry Birds - so we downloaded it. That darned game is so addictive. The premise of the game is the slingshot the birds in an effort to kill the nasty little piggies that have stolen the birds' eggs. It really is so much fun. However, it's not exactly why I wanted the iPad. I'd better buckle down and get working on it. Tomorrow.
Tonight I have a bunch of nasty little piggies to kill!
