From the couch

Today's post comes to you directly from my couch. It would be coming from my bed, but I just can't get up the energy to move. My sweet little daughter in law noted on Facebook yesterday that she'd never been this ill. I have to agree, 100 per cent.

This means all my fabulously organized Christmas planning has just gone down the tubes. We just very well may be eating frozen pizzas and doritos this weekend. Tonight I had planned to begin the prep for the tourtiere and the bread pudding. Instead, I will probably be trying figure out how to get from the couch to the bed.

There is no knitting to report. In fact, I haven't knit a stitch since Monday when I finished a sock knit in Cascade Fixation - it's pink - and I love this yarn. Because it has elastic properties, I used 3.5mm needles but still got a gauge of 30 stitches to 4 inches. The stitch pattern was really simple too. One round was just knit, the second round was "the pattern round" of feather and fan - *k2tog 2 times, (yo k1) 4 times, k2tog 2 times* with a purl 2 between each pattern repeat. Of course, the photos are on my other computer. The sock took just less than one skein of the Faxation. At $3.50 per skein, you can make a pair for $7.00. I must ask Joan, but I think this yarn is just right for diabetic socks.

So, without much aplomb, I am going back to sleep.
