Thinking Pink

Seeing my sweet little grand daughter has me thinking pink. Depending on how well you know me, you just might know my favourite colour is pink. But only nice clear shell pinks, none of that dusty rose (goodness me, I have enough dust here, I don't need any in my pinks!). Hot pink is okay in small doses, or when I can't get the nice soft clear pink I love.

Every week brings a new pink quest - pink yarn, pink fabric, pink luggage.Last week, I bought some new pajama pants in a pink stripe and a pink plaid. I swear I sleep better wearing them.  Luggage? Yup. I need something nice to put my stuff in when I visit my boys or go to various overnight shows. The red suitcases I bought last year that were such a good deal and promptly fell apart just aren't me. First of all they're red, with black zippers, secondly, they're red cloth and thirdly and most importantly they're red and frayed. So they have to go.

I saw a cool orange (I also love orange) Roots hardside carry on last week. But I felt $200 $249 was way too much to spend on it. And to be truthful, I really haven't been looking too hard for new luggage and just perhaps there was a pink Roots case with my name on it. But I hadn't given it any more thought.

Today that all changed. Someone on Ravelry linked to the Heyes webite, specifically the xcase mini in a sweet shiny pink, and the quest began in earnest. Sadly, all the colours of the xcase minis were out of stock! But the next size up wasn't - and most colours are in stock. Actually I didn't care that most were in stock, only the pink being in stock was important.

And it's in stock. And in my shopping cart on the Heyes website where it will stay until the bright light of day shines upon me and I will either order it, and rejoice in finding the perfect carry-on sized case.Or not order it, and then it will be discontinued and I will never ever find the perfect pink suitcase again. And I shall probably moan about it for all eternity. At $79 it's reasonably priced, and shipping is only $8!

I'm also thinking about designing a cosy for it so it won't get scratched. Yes,of course,  knit in a soft shiny pink wool, with little holes on the bottom for the wheels. Perhaps some felted flowers and leaves will adorn it. Then a little cosy must be knit for Nettie McNetbook. She'd feel so left out if she didn't get a matching outfit.

I'm thinking it will make a nice Christmas present from me to me. O-r-r-r-r-r-r-r... I could buy one for Lynn (she loves pink too) as a Christmas present, and she could buy me one, and wouldn't we be surprised when we open our gifts on Christmas morning? And then it's a totally justifiable purchase - a gift for a friend. Who could fault me for that?

(Did I mention the xcase wheels light up? You all know a girl needs her suitcase wheels to light up. Right?)
