My newest "must have"!
I really want one of these. Maybe I want more than one, but that would be greedy, wouldn't it? It`s a bakelite wool holder from the 1930s to 1950s, and they reportedly come in 10 colours. Google "bakelite wool holder", you`ll get hundreds of hits. They are a bit on the pricey side, and there is one on eBay right now in a colour I love, but the seller doesn`t ship to Canada. These cool little gadgets not only protect your yarn from getting tangled, it will keep it out of the reaches of a naughty kitty or two. And, if you're knitting on a bus, train or plane, your yarn cannot roll down the aisle.
So, if you're out and about and see one at a flea market or garage sale, please let me know. Or, better yet, if the seller is asking $25 or under, please get it for me. I would love to have it.
It looks like my November 1st deadline to have the new website up has come, and the site's not ready yet. I could put it up, with a few (very important) pages not done. I think I shall carry on and finish it this week. So, new deadline - November 8th. Notice I didn't say what year though?
You may have noticed a new little button on the right hand side of the blog. In March 2009, one of my patterns was featured on www.craftgossip.com. It only took me a year and a half to put the button here to commemorate it. I'll be posting the pattern here soon. Watch for it - maybe on a Thursday in the not too distant future.
