Gotcha!

Just before the shop opened yesterday, Mr Knits and I were doing the regular morning clean up. We're located right beside the local mail boxes and the unwanted flyers seem to collect on our lot. Anyway, getting back to yesterday morning - this little green Saturn with no licence plates absolutely peels into our parking lot across from the shop, tearing up the gravel in the process. The driver jumped out, and trotted off, leaving his vehicle parked askew in the lot. Thinking he was just going to the bank, we went back to our garbage detail. After about an hour, the vehicle was still there, and we since it had no licence plates or trip permit we began to think it was abandoned. Or stolen.  Maybe there was a body in the trunk. Maybe we watch too many "Criminal Minds" episodes. So, we called the local police detachment to see what we should do. They said they would be out as soon as possible. And just as the police pulled up, the driver of the car came back. Couldn't have been worse timing on his part!

The police officer - we have the greatest officers up here - spoke with him, asked for his ID and inspected the vehicle. No body in the trunk. Since he wasn't on the road, he wasn't charged with anything, but as he didn't have plates or insurance, he wasn't allowed to drive it away - he was going to have his brother come and tow it away later that day. But, about 2 hours later he came back and drove off. Bad boy!

Because I'm a naughty little beggar, I snapped some photos for your enjoyment. Because, you know the saying - Show me photos or it didn't happen!

He should have got a ticket for crooked parking!
