Free Pattern Phursday - Thirteen

We've had a busy week here chez Log Cabin - redecorating and renovating takes so much time! I've slept here twice this week just trying to get everything done. It's been worth it though. I love the way it is all shaping up. The Wednesday afternoon knitter's had the first preview although the work was still not complete. We had a lovely time celebrating Marlene's 70th birthday too.

Since winter really hasn't made much of a show up here this year (we only have about 12" of snow when we usually have 3 to 4 feet of snow by this time), I feel kind of silly sharing a simple side to side glove pattern. You never know, it might just snow tomorrow.

This is the pattern I use to teach beginners how to knit. All you need to know is how to cast on, bind off, the knit stitch, and most importantly how to count. Use a soft, warm wool and your hands will be cozy all winter. Worsted weight makes the adult size, dk or sport weight is just right for little kids' hands.

I must get back to assembling the new tables, hanging a most beautiful mirror, and then the putting the shop back together will begin. The yarn bins have been pulled out from the walls for over a week now, making it a little difficult for shoppers to browse.

I do hope you like what we've done.

And now - here's the pattern!

this is what the glove looks like before it's sewn up - looks like a
double cow's udder to me!
