Free Pattern Phursday - Nine

It's Thursday already? My word,  the time is flying by. This hat pattern has been a popular one in the shop. A quick and easy knit made with super bulky yarn,  an earflap hat makes a great last minute gift or a wonderful mid winter pick me up. Or, you could get started on next Christmas' gift knitting!

11 sts of first earflap. Turn work and cast on 22 sts, turn work so right side is facing. Join
carefully, avoid twisting the work, distributing the sts over the 4 needles - 14st, 14st, 14sts,

through remaining sts and fasten securely.

Finishing:
With crochet hook, work one row single crochet, then one row of crab stitch around bottom edge of hat. Weave in ends.

Braided cord: Cut one strand of yarn 30” long. Draw one piece through bottom of ear flap, close to the
15” tail left from the cast on. Even up the ends, and braid the three strands until about
3” of yarn remain. Tie a knot, and trim ends. Make another for the other earflap.

Note: the M1 I used was a lifted increase. You can also use an ewrap increase.
