Finished the quickie!

Cute, huh? Less than 100 grams of sock yarn will keep someone's hands warm this winter. I still haven't woven in the ends, but that will be done tonight.

On the inside you'll not a couple of long loops just hanging there. I left just to show how you can match up the yarn if it doesn't keep perfectly in pattern.  I just kept knitting until about 6 inches or so of one yarn didn't line up with the other, then I just matched them up, leaving the loop to be woven in later.

And, I've started Lia from www.knitty.com Deep Fall edition. I swatched (yes, I did!) and adjusted my needles, and here it is - 3 rounds in. The designer said she knit it in a week - let's see if I can get it finished this winter. I really would like to. The yarn I'm using was a special one time order a few years ago that didn't sell well at all. It was purported to be "just like Manos del Uruguay". It's a single ply, and sort of lumpy, but it is a solid shade, not the semi solid kettle died beauty that is Manos. But, it's soft, and a pretty tomato soup colour. I think I shall rename the project "Campbell".
Mr Knits picked up a bunch of new scarves yesterday - some of them are so pretty. Notice I said some? Well, he decided to do a silly thing and pick out some himself in addition to the order I placed. I have a bet with him - he says they will sell within 2 weeks. I say I'm giving them to his Mom and sister for Christmas! I'll keep you posted on the progress.
