As we all know, I am a "did you make a swatch?" fanatic. At TNNA I found the coolest little tool that will tell you how many stitches per inch you are getting, as well as the tool being a needle gauge. I have several on order right now and expect to pick them up on Friday.
You find out the number of stitches per inch by positioning the two points on each end of 10 stitches - one end on the left side of stitch 1 and the slideable (is that even a word?) on the right side of stitch 10. This is the thing that is totally awesome, I tell you. It's like a slide ruler for knitters and crocheters. As you can see from the photo, it also is a needle sizer. And the cost? Only $2.00! As soon as I get across the border with my order, one of these babies is going into my knitting bag.
Also in this order is the pretty coloured Handi Tools - the one little tool that sold out so quickly in the winter. I do have the boring Susan Bates handi tools that are a dull grey still hanging on the wall though. I expect that you want one of the coloured ones to get in here quickly and grab it while you can. These little things make great gifts for your knitting and crocheting friends.
And I have added to the Chiaogoo red needles - adding sizes 3.5 mm up to 6 mm in the 40 inch length. I am getting used to the little bend in the needle, and while Addi turbos will always be my weapon of choice, these make a great runner up.
On my little run to the border on Friday, I'll also be picking up my Tilli Tomas order, and a big book order. If I can coordinate with Della Q, I'll be also getting selection of hand/knitting bags.
I love picking up new merchandise - even if I don't get to keep it, at least I get to play with it!
