A Continental Damn!

Yes, I am still here - a little bit overwhelmed, but here. After more than a week of struggling with blogger's block, it's time to just post something. So if this post is a little bit silly and scattered, please accept my apologies in advance.

First on the agenda is the Continental Damn! Yesterday at knitting, Jeannette announced the next sock she makes will be knit Continental. That's a daunting challenge for a thrower to undertake....I know, I've tried. Last night, while I was knitting a fish (yeah, a fish) I thought I would try to knit the rest of it Continental. Actually, after the first few rounds it got a little easier. That was until I had to start decreasing. First, I couldn't do an SSK to save my soul and had to substitute PSSO. The K2togs were so difficult to maneuver I dreaded them! But I did finish the body and top fin of the fish - and most was done Continental. Having done this, I think I shall join Jeannette in her Continental journey - anyone else interested in giving it a go?

Second, the bathroom renovation is underway. The plans are drawn, the money's in the bank, and permits will be applied for shortly. We have even made arrangements for a PortaPotty for the month of April. Now, that's going to look really nice out the front of the shop, isn't it.

Third, Mr Knits and I have been having great fun with the 3G phones. So much so, I think I have "Bubble breaker" thumb. I have played the game so much, my right thumb hurts when I press the OK button. Looks like I don't know when enough is enough! Please notice that we have 4 bars of service here at the shop! I love our new phones!

Finally, you might have noticed the number of flowers required for the Flower Rug has changed...since I changed the size of the rug from 3 by 5 to 4 by 6 feet, I now need 450 flowers! This means I am about 8% finished the crocheting. Perhaps I'll have to change the projected finish date. Maybe move it back to October. That's a lot of flowers to crochet. Imagine how heavy that carpet will be!

So, that kinda sums up what's been happening around here the past couple of weeks. Some knitting, some crocheting, lots of bubble breaking and a bit of guilt for not blogging.

Have fun!

So, what is the fish, well, for? Some kind of cozy? Toy for Purrl? Inquiring minds want to know!

I am hoping to make about 30 or so little fishies for a window display. Wish me luck...I have 3 done now.
