I've got 3g service, and I know how to use it!
Mr Knits has been wanting a new cell phone for a long time - a phone that has 3g or HSPA capability. The price of these phones is crazy! For people who live in an area of limited cell service, buying a phone for four or five hundred dollars is bordering on insanity. But, if you know Mr Knits, you know he wouldn't rest until he got one.
We went to several phone stores and kiosks, and were given incorrect information at each one. All the reps told us if we purchased a smartphone, we would have 3g service. This is not true. Don't let anyone tell you that - okay? Finally, we found a 3g phone for a great price, he popped in his Speakout sim card, and bingo! We have service - almost all the way to our house!
Mr Knits told me he was so excited because we "had 4 bars" in the parking lot. I told him that sounded like an alcoholic's dream. What he meant was, we didn't need to walk across the street and stand up close to the bank to get cell service! We can send text messages, play "Bubble Break" on the way to work, and believe it or not, make phone calls right in our store! (I think, but am not 100% sure that only Rogers phones can access the 3g up here.)
So, we are retiring the Nokia 2720 for now - it will be our backup phone just in case I decide to wash his new Samsung. If you want more information on this, just text me at 613 242 7263, I'll text you back!
