New stuff

Before I get up and get ready for the Creativ Festival (why can't they spell it correctly?) I wanted to let you know about some new yarn and needles that arrived this week.

Louisa Harding Jasmine a lovely blend of  cotton, bamboo, silk and some sparkly stuff. $8 per skein, 3 colours in stock with more to come soon.

Rozetti's Polaris, a soft blend of Dralon (a very fancy name for acrylic), wool and sequins. All 5 colours are in stock, $7 per skein. One or two skeins will make a beautiful scarf.

As the label shows, Sirdar Baby Bamboo, 80% bamboo 20% wool, 100% shiny and soft. Lovely for scarves, baby clothing, summer tops. I'm thinking of taking 3 balls (1 each of pink, ivory and green) and making a pair of striped socks. As this yarn is DK weight, it will knit up in no time.

Universal Yarns has several ready to dye yarns - and the Bamboo Merino sock yarn was the first to arrive.  I can't wait to get dyeing it.

I have decided to try the Chiaogoo circular needles, and ordered a complete line up of them - from 2mm to 10mm in several different lengths. These needles are priced from $7 to $9 dollars.

While the cables aren't as supple as the Addi's, these needles are really nice. I'm knitting a scarf in the Polaris with a pair and find them quite a pleasure to work with. Come in and give them a try.

I've used those needles a couple times and they are lovely. For those of us who can't afford Addi's these are a nice option. The cable is wonderful and soft.

It could be worse, they might have spelled it 'Kreativ'
