Fashion Show, the sequel and Customer Appreciation Day, December 12th

Saturday's show was an amazing success, mostly due to the cleverness of Mr Knits and his ability to find models at the last minute. We were so very  fortunate to have Veronica, Kendra and Bethany strut their stuff on our stage.

The ladies began arriving before 1:30 pm to get good seats. Lynda, Joan and Marion are in the front row, from left to right. Lynne came from Ottawa, Marlene and Jeanette from Ashby Lake are in the second row, and in the back are Martha and Carole. The donations for the food bank were awesome! You should see the mound of cans, boxes and bags in the shop. We received so much more than I had hoped. I will take a picture of it all before Marylin picks it up.

We had a full house before 2:00 pm, so we started early. As mentioned in the previous post, all the garments were supplied by SR Kertzer, as well as the door prizes. Melissa, Marlene, Lisa and Donna each won a prize consisting of a pattern booklet and yarn to complete a project, and the big door prize was won by Helen (I do have to call her to let her know!) There were 5 prizes, so two were won each show and everyone's name was entered in the big prize draw. Actually, Lisa's name was drawn for the big prize too, but she graciously declined to take it, and ask that we draw another name. What nice people knitters are! Every person who attended also received a little gift from me consisting of a 100 g ball of SRK On Your Toes sock yarn and a set of casein double pointed knitting needles.

Back to the show now. The girls who modeled for us are local ladies - Veronica works parttime at Foodland, and has her own dance studio in Cloyne, Bethany also works at Foodland and is a student at Loyalist College and Kendra is a well known singer & songwriter.

Aren't they beautiful?
After the show there was much discussion of what projects to take on. Here, Sylvia and Debbie are deciding on which yarn to use for the Edge to Edge vest which was a favourite at the show. At Thursday's show, the Twilley's Beret and Scarf was the most popular item.

I had so much fun organizing this show, I've already started plans for the next one. So, mark Saturday February 13th on your calendar. This time the donations I'm asking for are kitty litter, cat and dog food for the Napanee Animal Shelter.

Last but certainly not least, please join us on Saturday December 12th from noon to 3 pm for a little customer appreciation event. Cookies, cider, tea, coffee and other assorted goodies will be served. All yarns will be discounted by at least 10% - some as much as 75%. You choose a little box from under the tree, and inside will be your discount on your yarn purchase.  All knitting needles will be 20% off. Please note that this sale is in store and on the 12th only. There will be a draw for a child's fair isle sweater kit. For each $20 you spend you get one ticket for the draw.

That's all I have planned so far - there will be more specials announced on the 12th.  Stay tuned.
