Paint The Town Red!

Let's paint the town red and support our Olympic athletes at the same time. Yesterday I was approached to help out with this project, and I assured Carol B. that my trusty group of knitters would help out.

Here's what the plan is - make a hand crafted  red scarf, 12 inches wide to be sent to the Olympics in Vancouver for our Canadian athletes. The pieces can be dropped off here, and I will join them and get them down to Tweed for their Festival of Lights. That's when there will be media coverage of this undertaking. Carol's hoping to make the Guiness Book of Records for the longest scarf.

This does however mean I will have to break my Knitting New Year resolution and cast on something new, but it is for a good cause.

I happen to have a lot of red yarn here that I would love to give to anyone who will knit or crochet it up. My guess is to cast on 60 stitches and knit in any stitch pattern you want. I think I will do the Seafoam Stitch pattern http://www.knittingonthenet.com/stitches/seafoam.htm as it reminds me of a flag waving in the wind.

I'm going to pull the red yarn out of the sale bin right now!
