Random things

I have a few loose ends to tie up regarding past blog posts, so here goes:

Knitting New Year update

Here's about half of the projects I have to finish by January 1, 2010 to fulfill my Knitting New Year resolutions. One of those bags is full of socks in progress. Good thing I like to knit socks! I have some projects at home too. A pair of socks is almost done, and one entrelac backpack is in its final stages. Perhaps one more evening will finish both projects. Next up, the bag of pink on the left side of the photo. It's the Big Montana vest from Interweave Knits Weekend. It's almost half done. The the next bag will be the one in the upper middle which is full of things that just need ends woven in. And as soon as I find the pattern book the bag on the lower right will be brought out and the diagonal sweater finished. I'm making steady progress on the yarn sorting and needle organzing too.

Phentex Slipper is DONE!

When I put it on to show Mr Knits, he said it looked like something Mrs Roper from "Three's Company" would wear. I have to agree. It is very comfortable and I will be making the pair. Look for them soon. On my feet!

Spinning Class

Remember that pile of fleece from last week

 - well here it is now:

195 grams of such soft grey wool. It is going to be mittens soon - and this does count in the Knitting New Year resolution as I had started it before November 12th.  Here's how it knits up:

It is a little thick and thin, but for the most part it knits up to worsted gauge. Did I happen to tell you I love spinning? I do. Mr Knits says my spinning wheel is my best toy ever.

New Yarn in the Shop

Four colourways to start with, and more is coming. It's a blend of merino, alpaca and nylon sock yarn, hand dyed to perfection. With 50 grams, 206 metres and a price of only $6.00 it's a steal!

And that my pretties, is all for today. Take care!
