The phone call I have been dreading finally came
And the last two kittens are going to their new homes on Saturday. Gurl Grey, who is now named Sacha, was the first to leave on Monday morning. Bikini Boy (Felix) and Earl Grey (Toby) went to their new home together on Tuesday evening, leaving Big Patch and Little Patch all by themselves with Kitty Mama (whom I am thinking of naming Sofia).
She has been so attentive to these last two kittens, it's been a touching week. She never lets them out of her sight for fear of losing them I think. Hopefully she will gain some much needed weight in the next few weeks before her spaying now that she won't be feeding and caring for 5 rambunctious youngsters. Even after weeks of unlimited quantities of excellent food, she is just skin and bones. but such a transformation from the half bald, dull coated little kitty we brought home a month ago. Her coat is shiny and smooth and all the bald patches have grown back in.
It's pretty obvious to anyone who knows me that we are indeed keeping Kitty Mama. She is such a sweet, brave little kitty who doesn't deserve to ever suffer through one more day in the harsh outdoors. If I have my way (and you know I will!) she will live in the utmost of luxury along with our two kitties.
Speaking of the other girls....Purrl was being a total and absolute monster Wednesday! A group of ladies from London Ontario were in the shop, and they know and love Purrl. When they came in, all four of them gave her lots of attention, and then they began to shop for yarn. Purrl, however, was not impressed with the lack of attention. So, she jumped up onto the top of the yarn cabinets, and started pulling out and tossing pink Rowan Big Wool at the ladies. It actually was bouncing off their heads! That certainly got their attention - mine too - and while we picked up and put away the yarn we all had a good laugh.
And Purrl got the attention she was demanding. She is such a BRAT! Which is exactly why I love her.
