New month, new yarn!
Last month, I placed an order with my rep from Kertzer, and was not expecting the yarn to arrive any time soon. When new yarn hits the market it is often months before it is shipped. Imagine my surprise when Eric, our friendly UPS man, delivered a box of sock yarn today.
Two new shades of On Your Toes Bamboo, and the Limited Edition Collection of the On Your Toes wool with aloe. I can't wait to cast on with the Iris shade (multi lavender, purple and green) in the Bamboo. But I can't until I have finished at least two more WIP (works in progress).
I did finish the alpaca baby blanket I have been working on for the past couple of weeks. It is for the next grandbaby born into our family (do you hear that Terri ?- it's 100% alpaca!) Here's a shot of the edging:
And the finished blanket:
We had two knitters come to the toe up sock class this past Friday - both of them well on their way to the heel shaping, which we will be doing this coming Friday. This sock class will run for three Fridays every month. The next session will start on the 27th of February. The cost for each class is $10, and participants are not obliged to take all three classes. If you just want a refreshed on one part of the sock (toes, heels or cuffs) just come to that class. They are held from 10 am until 12 noon on Fridays.
And, as usual, we will be "sittin' and knittin'" tomorrow from 1:30 until 3:30. Hope to see you then.
