Thanks!

Thank you to everyone who came into the shop on Saturday and helped me celebrate my birthday! Although you needn't have brought me pressies - I love them! First I must thank Wilda Lemke for the beautiful birthday cake...it was scrumptious! If you live in our area and need a special cake made, I recommend you contact Wilda.

Some chocolate cookies from Lynn. Nom, nom, nom!

And then the soccer sheep and cat grass from Candy, the chocolate truffles from Carole, the Ganong chocolates from Lillian, and the Valentine heart arrangement from Joan.

Stinky is going to love the cat grass. It's germinating as we speak.

Last week I promised pictures of the new yarn, and, of course, I didn't get it done. Here it is now. (I really must stop going into Toronto every weekend! I get nothing done. But I do like seeing my kids and grandkids.)

Some yummy kid mohair and silk lace weight yarn - Ovation from SRK. 10 new colours with pattern support.

Just four of the seven colours in the On Your Toes DK. One ball makes a pair of socks for just $10.

Six colourways of Trenton, a fabulous worsted weight, 100% merino superwash. Trenton is named for CFB Trenton where our heroes land. This yarn is ideal for socks, hats, mitts, scarves, afghans and sweaters. And the colours are great for all - men, women and kids.

Bad shot, but great yarn! What shipment is complete without some fun? Baby Monkey in black, white and bright green. More Ovation colours are in back of the Baby Monkey.

In other news, the Entrelac workshop is happening this Saturday. I'm just doing the final revisions on the handouts, and I look forward to teaching everyone this fun technique. for those who have registered, remember to bring some self striping worsted weight yarn, and appropriate sized circular needles. If you don't have any at home, I have lots of self striping yarns to choose from.

The next session of Toe Up socks begins next Friday, February 27th from 10 am until noon. We already have 3 participants, so there's room for 1 more. Cost per week is $10, plus the cost of the sock yarn and needles if required. It is best to use a light coloured yarn for this class (makes it easy to see any problems).

And, as usual, there will be Sittin' and Knittin' tomorrow from 1:30 pm until 3:30 pm. The turnout for this group has been great this winter. I hope to see a bunch of you again.
