Today's Amusement
Something for those of you with a high speed internet connection:
A television commercial featuring knitting
Sigh, some people are just too talented for words.
Yesterday, I sent an email out to everyone on the sock yarn challenge email list and the regular knitter's email list announcing a special, private sale for blog readers only. No sale notice will be posted in the store, so be sure to mention the sale when you come in or phone. For those who are not on the mailing list, here's an excerpt from the email:
Due to a huge senior's moment last month, I was unable to update the blogs http://www.sockdolagy.blogspot.com/ and http://www.knittin4britain.blogspot.com/ - details are posted on both explaining what went wrong.
Anyway, I'm back. And feeling quite, um....shall I say sheepish? To celebrate the cracking of the code that allowed me to get back into the blog, (actually, all I had to do was enter the correct password, but that is another story) I am having a Blog Readers Only Sale until April 30th. Sale is limited to stock on hand.
40% off the following
All Namaste knitting bags - Knit Tube (1 burgundy and 1 grey), Vintage (1 pink and 1 beige, Messenger (1 dusty mauve)
All remaining Wendy Yarns, including Wendy Pampas (lots of stock), Rembrandt (4 colours left), Bambino Baby (only pink remaining)
All remaining Twilley's yarn - Freedom Spirit (10 colours), Freedom Wool (3 colours left) and Freedom Cotton (10 colours)
All remaining Naturally Yarns - Naturelle, Tussock, Magic Garden, Merino and Fur, Merino and Silk, Kid and Silk, Sensation, Landscape, JJ Handpaints Mohair and Montage. Lots of colour in each line.
Shipping will be free for all orders over $100, and all Wendy and Naturally Patterns are free with the purchase of yarn. I know I haven't got all the yarns listed, so call or drop in for details.
Sadly, the distribution channel has changed for the Wendy, Twilley's, and Naturally yarns, so once the stock is gone, I won't be carrying it anymore. On the bright side, that means I'm on the hunt for some new yarn lines. Now, that's always fun! Perhaps I'll give Berroco another chance. I do like their Comfort yarn, and it has been a good seller. Any suggestions of what you would like to see come in?
So, ir's been decided - I'm going to TNNA in June! All the new yarns, bags, notions, needles...if it's for knitting, crocheting, spinning, needlepointing, cross stitching, it will be there. This year, I'm going for a full week. There are two classes I would like to take and they are scheduled for Thursday. The show doesn't start until Saturday and runs until Monday, and then I will head home on Tuesday. So I will head out on Wednesday June 9th and return Tuesday June15th.
TNNA for those who haven't heard me blather on about incessantly, is a trade show for the needlearts. More than 4 acres of vendors in the Greater Columbus Convention Center. If you're interested - visit http://www.tnna.org/ It's a great organization for all us independent shop owners in Canada and the US. Imagine over a thousand shop owners under the influence of yarn fumes. I'm getting dizzy just thinking about it.
The night before I leave for TNNA,John Mr Knits, my stepson Cliff and his girlfriend Kris, Kris's dad Nigel and Nigel's wife and I are going to see The Dixie Chicks and The Eagles at the Roger's Centre. Cliff got us tickets on Friday - FLOOR SEATS no less - and we are so excited. Now, if there are 4 days left in March, 30 days in April, 31 days in May and the concert is on the 8th of June, that means there are only 72 sleeps until the Eagles. I'm just like a kid waiting for Christmas.
