He loves me! He really, really loves me!
My birthday and anniversary were on Valentine’s day, and Mr Knits gave me 4 mugs – all knitting related. I had shown him one of them a few months ago because it was just so irreverent and so me. We both laughed about it for a few days, but I would never buy it for myself. It was just too much money for a mug. But for an anniversary or birthday gift for the girl who feels she has everything she could ever want, it was perfect. I just couldn’t believe he actually listened to me and remembered how much I like it – here it is:
And, because he just couldn’t decide among the rest of the knitting themed mugs, he got me three more. I especially giggle at “ribbed for her pleasure”.
These mugs are available at cafepress.com should you wish to avail yourself of one or more of them. Remember, nothing says lovin’ like “F*ck Off, I’m Knitting”.
To continue in the slightly off colour theme of this post, I now present you with “ Barbie’s Gone Potty”.
A few weeks ago, I saw a crocheted version of this toilet paper cover on Ravelry, and I was going to crochet one. Then, I thought I should knit one as most of my customers and friends don’t crochet, and some of them just might want to make one for themselves. So, with the photo of Auntie Elle’s creation, I knitted one up. It took about 150 yards of off white Twilley’s Cotton Freedom that I had left over from another project, some thin cardboard and a bit of quilt batting, but fibre fill stuffing would be fine too. And of course, I had to go shopping for a Barbie doll that had positionable arms and legs. Once I found her, I made her a pretty little dress and shrug out of the finest materials.
I think the panties are a bit large, but they will have to do until I can get to town and buy her some lingerie. Please note the tiny roll of toilet paper with the Barbie pink toilet paper holder. I had too much fun creating this thing.
Obviously, Ken just used the potty and he left the seat up!
A pithy pattern for this lovely bathroom decorator piece is available now...no row by row instructions are in the works. Sort of goes like this...cast on 72 stitches, join and knit in the round until piece is as hgh as a toilet paper roll, begin decreasing 7 stitches every other row until 24 stitches remain, join blue and continue decreasing until 8 remain, break yarn, draw through remaining stitches and secure well. The toilet lid and tank notes are at work and I’m at home this lovely family day, so I’m not able to provide you with the numbers at this time. I will soon though.
My son Matty and his wife Terri came up for the weekend. It has been so much fun - we cooked, cleaned, split firewood, went shooting cans in the forest,
walked the dogs (all four of them), made pizza from scratch, ate,
Mmmm, french toast and bacon!
spun some wool,
had birthday cake, knit....and figured out a way to stop Emma from barking. We spray her with the water we use to stop Purrl from bugging Stinky. And it works. Very well. In fact. It would have been better if we had thought of it four years ago. If she’s making noises as if she’s going to start barking, all we have to do is pick up the pink elephant sprayer
and she slinks away quietly.
and she slinks away quietly.
Thank you to everyone who sent me birthday wishes. You are all so sweet. I’m so lucky to know all of you. Until we see each other again, take care.
