Delayed Again!

As some of you may know, the amazing book "The Principles of Knitting" by June Hemmons Hiatt is being readied for reprinting. At first, I heard it was to be July 2008, but that was moved back to September 2009. I checked with Simon and Schuster this morning and this was their reply:

Sorry, this Title's been postponed several times. Currently, the planned Publication Date is now November, 2010.

How disappointing! On the brighter side, the book is no longer selling for $500 on ebay - it looks like it's in the $100 range now, so it's much more affordable. I must say I really want to get this book, just as much as our local librarian wants me too. I request it several times a year through inter-library loan.

This book was instrumental in broadening my knitting horizons. I thought I was a total knitting rock star because I knew 5 ways to cast on and 5 ways to bind off. June demonstrates 33 ways of casting on and I think it's 37 ways of binding off!

So, if you ever see this book in a used book shop for less than $100, scoop it up. It's a tremendous reference book.
