Baby, it's cold outside!
And just the right weather for staying inside, sitting by the fire, knitting. Making nice, warm wooly things for you and your loved ones. Here's a link for some great free patterns - http://www.knotions.com/issues/winter_2008/patterns.aspx There are so many good ones in this online magazine, I'm having a difficult time choosing which one to make first. I like these patterns as they are not too simple so as to be boring, but not too difficult so I would have to think and pay attention to what I'm doing.
We're back on schedule with knitting this Thursday from 1:30 pm until 3:30 or so. As always, tea and coffee will be ready and usually someone brings a biscuit or two to share. I have a box of those yummy Swiss ones like I had last year, and I promise to bring them this week.
Does anyone have any suggestions about what to knit for charity this time around? Is there anything you would like to learn about knitting or crocheting? Let me know.
The worm wallets have arrived for those who have pre-ordered them. The cost is $7.00 each including tax and shipping. What a great deal! I tried ordering more, but Princess Auto hasn't any left :-(
I know that most bait and tackle places sell these worm binders, but I have not seen one that is so perfect as this.
Our January Stashbusting Workshop is fast approaching - I have two projects done, and one more to start. For those of you who have already registered, you might want to take an hour or two to gather up and sort your stash yarns and your scrap yarns. For a quick first sort, get some large bags (used gift bags are great for this as they stand up), baskets or plastic tubs, and sort the yarns into weights first - fingering, sport/dk, worsted, chunky, bulky and superbulky. Once that is done, if you are super fussy, you can then break each bag down into fibre type - acrylic, blends, wool, cotton, etc. At this time, you can pull out any yarn you know you NEVER want to knit with, and put it in a separate bag and bring it with you for the yarn swap. Any yarn that is not taken by the end of the day will be given to Community Services for their women's drop in group.
And, if you haven't registered already for the Stashbusting workshop - you can reply by leaving a comment on the blog, or email logcabinyarns@aol.com or phone me at 613-336-3385.
